DATELINE: Miami,FL /February 8th, 2010 (The Who and the Who Dats---WHO could ask for anything more!!) The media covering this one won't suffer from writer's block. The only problem when breaking down the Saints dominating Super Bowl victory is which storyline do you pick? The lead is obviously that this one was much bigger than a football game. This "Super" win gives New Orleans and the Gulf Coast something that is long overdue and something that will lift the spirits of a region that could surely use a group hug. The players get it, they have always talked post Katrina about how winning football games would mean more than just simply filling a trophy case at the Saints complex, it would give its fan base something to rally around. Last night the team walked the walk then talked the talk as the first things out of their mouths in…

DATELINE: Miami, FL (I have a question "When is it going to stop raining here?") Super Bowl Media Day is one of my favorite events. Its almost like a Media Olympics where you are competing against several local and national entities to see who can get the most off the wall stories. This day doesn't break any news where Dwight Freeney's ankle is still doubtful, Marques Colston is still modest and Drew Brees is still good at not biting on any controversial questions. No, Media Day is fun and a chance to really get to know the personality of the Saints who have a collection of diverse individuals. This year's Media Day actually made history. For the first time it had do be moved indoors because of the wacky weather here in South Florida. That made things a little more cramped than usual and it was harder to…

DATELINE: Miami,FL (I thought this was Sunny South Florida??) Sean Payton is a creative playcaller and equally as resourceful when it comes to motivating his Saints. Whether it was burying the team's trophies following the 2006 season, to handing out baseball bats prior to the playoff game versus the Cardinals, there is never a dull moment in this locker room. Well Payton didn't neglect to bring his "out of the box" thinking to Super Bowl week but admitted his latest idea was borrowed from late Hall of Fame coach Bill Walsh. The Saints head coach like Walsh was prepared to greet the team at its hotel dressed up like a bell boy, but Payton added his own wrinkle. With seven pro-bowlers already checked in the night before, he asked them to help with this motivational ploy and most of them obliged. Drew Brees, Jon Stinchcomb,Jahri Evans, Jonathan Goodwin,Jonathan Vilma…

DATELINE: New Orleans, LA /January 26,2010 (Get ready for Miami Mardi Gras!) Jimmy Buffett told me in our postgame show that back in 1967 at the age of 17 he attended the Saints first ever game. The wide eyed future Parrott Head would be on hand to see the first ever Saints play which ironically was a touchdown thanks to John Gilliam returning the opening kickoff for a score against the Los Angeles Rams. Back then, the Margarita Man and the Saints Nation could never have predicted it would take 43 excruciating years for the Saints to make its first Super Bowl appearance. Well these days, the black and gold are no longer the Aints, conversely Sean Payton's bunch ain't even close. You didn't see any bags over any heads on Sunday night, unless it was the Saints D bagging and blitzing that Favre guy. What a game in so…

DATELINE: New Orleans, LA / January 17th, 2010 (Favre Smarve....Bring on the Vikes!) There's something about the name Reggie and the postseason. The Yankees boasted Mr October Reggie Jackson back in the 70's, these days the Saints Reggie is turning into Mr January. Hey, the analogy works when the Saints main man came out of the gates with a baseball bat which set the tone for his big day versus the Cardinals where Reggie Reggie ran for extra bases. The black bat given to every Saint by Head Coach Sean Payton had the inscription "Bring the Wood," well nobody brought it more than Reggie Bush as he led the biggest playoff win in Saints History. No home runs for the Saints multitasker but he may have hit for football's version of the cycle. He stepped up to the plate and delivered an eye popping, jaw dropping 46 yard touchdown…

PAYTON’S HEALTHCARE PLAN

DATELINE: Charlotte NC/ January 3rd, 2010 (Its cold here, but it will be warm in the dome in a few weeks!) President Obama would be impressed. Congress and the Senate would tip their hat in approval, heck even HIllary Clinton would marvel at how this Healthcare plan seem to work. Sean Payton issued a firm stance on the Who Dat Healthcare plan by putting Health over winning in the Saints season finale against the Panthers. I find it hard to argue with sitting your starters when all of your goals (Number One seed, Home Field and Division Title) are already feathers in your collective cap. For those who second guess this decision, your second guessing would be volumes louder if Drew Brees would have gotten hurt by the likes of Julius Peppers in this football game. The biggest argument against this Healthcare referendum is that this team desperately…
