Regional Sports Network added in Enid; more Oklahoma and Mississippi launches planned by year-end

NEW ORLEANS – Cox Sports Television announced today that Suddenlink Communications has launched the regional sports network in Enid, Oklahoma. CST is currently offered on 38 Suddenlink systems serving Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and now, Oklahoma.

Suddenlink is currently upgrading neighborhood-by-neighborhood to an all-digital TV lineup in Enid.  CST will be available to Enid customers once their location is converted, a process that is expected to be completed throughout the city in late September.   Enid, which is located about 100 miles northwest of Oklahoma City, is the first system in the Sooner State to get CST programming and now gives the network a presence in eight states.

“Cox Sports Television and Suddenlink have enjoyed a great partnership since 2005 and it gets stronger each year,” said CST head Rod Mickler. “We are excited to have the opportunity to bring our network and teams to additional Suddenlink markets in Oklahoma and Mississippi and we look forward to additional Suddenlink launches in the future.”

“We’re pleased to add yet another programming choice for sports fans in this area,” said Suddenlink Enid System Manager Angela Blair.  “Suddenlink continues to expand its sports and other programming options, and Cox Sports Television is another great addition.”

Suddenlink plans to launch CST on additional systems by the end of 2010. Stillwater, Cushing and Drumright, Oklahoma, are expected to complete all-digital conversions and  launch CST as early as late September, while the Greenville, Mississippi, system plans to complete a similar process and have the regional sports network available to its customers as early as year’s end.

CST televises over 300 events annually including live coverage of teams from some of the top conferences in the country, including: Big 12, SEC, Big East, Sun Belt, CUSA,  SWAC, WAC, Gulf South and the Atlantic Sun. CST offers live studio shows, outdoor programming and the south’s top high school coverage including weekly, live high school football games of the week.
