CST ANNOUNCES PRESEASON SAINTS SCHEDULE FOR THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
NEW ORLEANS – Cox Sports Television, the regional sports network home of the New Orleans Saints, announced today its preseason schedule for the Black and Gold. This marks the eighth season that CST has brought Saints preseason games to the Gulf South.
Earlier today, an agreement was announced between Cox Louisiana and the New Orleans Saints to continue CST’s role with the organization. The agreement, which runs through the 2015, gives CST the rights to year-round Saints programming and to continue to broadcast at least three LIVE preseason games per year.
The 2011 preseason broadcast schedule begins Friday night with a home tilt versus the San Francisco 49ers. CST will also broadcast the Saints on the road against the Houston Texans (Aug. 20) and conclude with the final preseason game against the Tennessee Titans (Sept. 1). All games kickoff at 7pm.
“CST is excited to once again bring Saints fans across the Gulf South our package of pre-season games” stated CST Network Head Rod Mickler, “With extensive coverage of Saints programming all year long, CST is must have TV for the entire Who Dat! Nation”
Veteran television and radio announcer Tim Brando, a part of the broadcast team since CST has partnered with the Saints, returns as the play-by-play voice in the game. Solomon Wilcots, a former NFL defensive back and long-time analyst for the NFL Network will be in the booth for CST for the fifth time in as many years. As CST’s Saints Insider Mike Nabors has been the network’s main correspondent with the team over the past five seasons and will provide sideline reporting for each game.
All three games will feature a live thirty minute pregame and postgame show from the Louisiana Machinery Studios hosted by Victor Howell and Paul Crane. The show, “Saints Tonight!”, will also feature live shots from the game site and also insight from the broadcast team of Brando, Wilcots and Nabors.
CST will allow fans to be a part of all three broadcasts and interact via Twitter. Golden Flake is powering the CST Twitter account for the preseason where fans can tweet questions or comments to @coxsportstv. Our announcers will pick out the best ones and broadcast them during the game.
During the regular season, “Saints Tonight!” will move to game night at 10:30pm. The live thirty minute postgame show includes highlights, player and coach’s interviews and game day analysis.
“Outside the Huddle”, the official magazine show for the Saints, airs Thursdays at 6:00pm every week during the season and monthly during the off-season. Tom Gregory is in as host for his first season, which will be housed in the Louisiana Machinery Studios. “Outside the Huddle” recently was awarded the Best Sports Show by the New Orleans Press Club. CST also is the home to Coach Payton’s LIVE weekly press conference. The day following each game, Coach Payton addresses the media from Saints Headquarters in Metairie, La.
