CST ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL AND FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Road to the Superdome begins Friday with Riverside-Donaldsonville matchup

NEW ORLEANS –  Cox Sports Television’s coverage of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association continues into the first postseason contests of the 2009-10 season.

It all begins this Friday with football at 7pm when the Riverside Rebels travel to Donaldsonville to face the Tigers. Donaldsonville comes into the contest ranked 8th with a 9-1 record. Riverside, the 25th-ranked team in Class 2A, enters at 6-4.

The LHSAA volleyball postseason has begun and CST’s coverage will begin on November 14 with the State Championship matches from the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner, Louisiana. For the second consecutive season, CST will broadcast LHSAA volleyball LIVE. This season, the featured match will be the Division IV championship with first serve at 11:00am. All other championship matches will be a part of CST’s replay schedule in November and December. Longtime LHSAA television personalities Rob Musemeche and Dennis McCain will call all of the action.

CST continues to be the exclusive regional sports network home of the LHSAA. CST televises 27 Louisiana High School championship events each year, including football, boys and girls basketball, girl’s volleyball and softball and boys baseball. In addition CST produces a monthly magazine show, “The LHSAA Report” which focuses on all girls and boys championships throughout the school year.
