NEW ORLEANS – Cox Sports Television (CST) has added to its ever‐expanding trophy case. The regional sports network announced today that two of its programs have been awarded a total of three coveted Telly Awards. CST’s 2008 BCS National Championship Show, which broadcast LIVE from Downtown New Orleans, picked up one “Bronze Telly”, and CST’s Profile of Virginia Tech head football coach Frank Beamer won two “Bronze” awards.

Telly Awards are judged on a 100‐point scale. Entries that get scores of 90 or higher are awarded a “Silver Telly”, which is the highest honor, while entries with scores that range from 70‐89 from the judges are awarded a “Bronze Telly”.

“We are honored to be recognized for our work by the organizers of the Telly Awards,” said CST executive producer Jeff Brenner. “Winning these awards only shows the dedication and hard work that our staff goes through on a daily basis to produce quality television for our viewers.”

The BCS National Championship Show was produced and directed by Andy Ritter, while Paul Crane, Victor Howell and Lyn Rollins served as hosts and field reporter, respectively. The hour‐long show was shot less than a block away from the Louisiana Superdome prior to the LSU‐Ohio State BCS Championship game in January of 2008.

CST’s Profile on Virginia Tech head football coach Frank Beamer picked up hardware in the Sports Show and Documentary categories. Mike Nabors hosted the program and traveled to Blacksburg, Virginia, to talk to coach Beamer and friends 1‐on‐1. Devin Marshall and Ritter, are responsible for producing, editing and shooting the program.

In 2006, CST won “Silver Telly” Awards for CST Tonight!, as well as an on‐air promo created for the Canadian Football League.
