COX SPORTS TELEVISION WINS SIX NATIONAL TELLY AWARDS
CST recognized with largest number of Telly awards in RSN’s history!!
NEW ORLEANS – For the second time in less than a year, Cox Sports Television (CST) has been awarded with multiple Telly Awards. CST was awarded a total of six Tellys for three on-air promotional spots. In June of 2009, CST picked up one Bronze Telly for the 2008 BCS National Championship Game Show and two for the CST Profile of Virginia Tech head football coach Frank Beamer.
Telly Awards are judged on a 100-point scale. Entries that get scores of 90 or higher are awarded a “Silver Telly”, which is the highest honor, while entries with scores that range from 70-89 from the judges are awarded a “Bronze Telly”.
“We would like to thank the organizers of the Telly Awards for rewarding us with this honor,” said CST Marketing and Promotions Manager Chris Jackson. “We are overwhelmed by this acknowledgement, as it shows the hard work that our team delivers for all of our viewers.”
The lone Silver Telly was awarded to CST for its promotional commercial for the regional sports network’s “Automotive Block”. The block consists of four nationally syndicated programs that air on CST every Friday afternoon. The commercial won in the “Automotive” category and also won a Bronze Telly in the “Use of Graphics” category.
CST was also awarded Bronze Telly Awards for its promotion of the New Orleans Hornets Playoff Celebration following the 2007-08 season. The promotional spot was awarded in the “Media Promotion”, “Sports/Sporting Goods/Games” and “Use of Animation” categories. CST’s 2009-10 New Orleans Hornets Tune-In promo picked up the final award in the “Media Promotion” category.
Spot Producer Anthony Sulser and Promotions Assistant Justin Thomas are credited for the creation of the on-air promotional spots.
In 2006, CST won “Silver Telly” Awards for CST Tonight!, as well as an on-air promo created for the Canadian Football League.
