Southern opens NCAA Tournament with #1 UConn
Baton Rouge, LA -- The SU Jaguars women's basketball team will play their opening round game vs. No. 1 team in America, the No. 1 seed in the field of 64 and the Big East Champion University of Connecticut (33-0) at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Va., on Sunday, March 21, at 12:16 p.m. (ET) on ESPN2.

Southern (23-8) will enter the NCAA tournament riding their second seven game win streak this season. The UConn Huskies began the season as the unanimous No. 1 in the ESPN/USA Today women's coaches' poll. The Huskies ended the season the same way after winning an NCAA record 72 contest.

Sunday's first-round winners will advance to the second-round game on Tuesday, March 23 at 7:00 p.m. (ET), also at the Ted Constant Convocation Center on the campus of Old Dominion University.

The winner of Tuesday's Dayton Regional second round game will advance to the NCAA Regional Semifinals, which will be played at the University of Dayton Arena in Dayton, Ohio, on Sunday, March 28. The Dayton Regional Final is scheduled for Tuesday, March 30.

Each game of the 2010 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament will be televised live on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN Fullcourt.
