CST TO SIMULCAST BARIBEAU AND SCARBO RADIO SHOW
Popular radio show on 97.3 FM THE ZONE in Birmingham adds to CST’s BCS coverage!!!
NEW ORLEANS – In conjunction with COX radio in Birmingham, Alabama, Cox Sports Television announces what will be the network’s first-ever radio simulcast. The four-hour Baribeau and Scarbo Radio Show will air on CST Thursday at 2pm LIVE from the Marriott New Orleans at the Convention Center.
Rachel Baribeau, an Auburn University graduate, has a resume that includes work for Fox Sports, ESPN, CBS Sports and Yahoo Sports. She is widely known in sports circles as the first female sports reporter to participate in a professional football training camp. Her co-host, Kevin Scarbinsky, is a Pennsylvania native who has been a long-time employee for The Birmingham News.
As a leading sports talk radio home for listeners in Central Alabama, 97.3 The Zone heavily covers collegiate and professional sports in the southeast. The Baribeau and Scarbo Show is one of four LIVE radio talk shows found on The Zone. The day begins at 6am with Eli Gold and Stan White, followed by Tim Brando at 9am and Matt Coulter at Noon.
The University of Alabama’s student television station also has plans on taking the feed of the show. WVUA/WUOA TV, which is owned by the university’s College of Communication, will take the feed of the simulcast from 2pm-4pm.
CST, the exclusive regional network home of the LSU Tigers, is in the midst of a special ten days of Tiger football coverage leading into the battle between the top two teams in college football – the #1 LSU Tigers vs. the #2 Alabama Crimson Tide.
The Baribeau and Scarbo show is a part of CST’s exploration Behind Enemy Lines. Other coverage based on the Crimson Tide includes columns from Cecil Hurt of the Tuscaloosa News and blogs from Marquavis Burnett, a sports writer for Alabama’s student newspaper, The Crimson White. CST’s Mike Nabors will also file reports from the Alabama camp here in the Crescent City.
The network will get all Tiger and Bama fans pumped and ready for the game with a LIVE pregame show beginning at 6pm from the shadow of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. CST’s stable of reporters will be on hand to countdown the minutes along with a constant wave of special guests. CST will also feature the most extensive postgame coverage of the Tigers originating from the Dome and also the CST’s Louisiana CAT studios. Tune in for highlights from co-hosts Victor Howell and Paul Crane, as they get analysis from Mike Nabors and Eric Richey LIVE from Poydras Street.
