NEW ORLEANS – Each of the last two seasons, Cox Sports Television’s number of college basketball games have reached a record number of contests. The 2011-12 CST basketball schedule continues to move the bar upwards with a new record of game for the 24-hour network.

At least 187 college basketball games from the premiere conferences in the country are set to tip on CST, which dwarfs number of games from just a few seasons ago.

The schedule gets kicked off the weekend of November 11 with a Big 12 broadcast of the Oklahoma Sooners hosting the Idaho Vandals. The following two nights, the Big East Conference will be featured with Alabama State heading to face Cincinnati and Wagner traveling to play defending national champion UConn.

Other featured games for the men schedule include: Oklahoma at Arkansas (Dec. 10); Boise State at LSU (Dec. 10); Georgetown at West Virginia (Jan. 7); Oklahoma State at Texas (Jan. 7); Jackson State at Southern (Jan. 9); Arkansas State at North Texas (Jan. 28); LSU at Vanderbilt (Feb. 8); Louisiana Tech at Utah State (Feb. 9); Louisiana-Lafayette at North Texas (Feb. 18); Texas A&M at Oklahoma (Feb. 21); and Tulsa at Tulane (Feb. 25). CST will also have wall-to-wall coverage of March Madness with broadcasts from the Atlantic Sun and Sun Belt Conference postseason tournaments.

The women’s schedule begins on November 22 with Northwestern traveling south to face LSU and new head coach Nikki Caldwell. LSU opens the season ranked inside the top 25.

Other women’s basketball battles of note this season include: Ohio State at Oklahoma (Dec. 4); Florida International at Western Kentucky (Dec. 11); Kentucky at Florida (Jan. 1); Tennessee at Auburn (Jan. 1); Jackson State at Southern (Jan. 9); LSU at Florida (Jan. 15); LSU at Tennessee (Jan. 19); Georgetown at UConn (Feb. 11); Louisiana-Lafayette at North Texas (Feb. 18). CST will also have broadcasts from the conference tournaments for the Atlantic Sun and Sun Belt Conferences.
