The New Orleans Zephyrs will unveil a new logo for the 2010 season, the club's first logo change in six years.

The Zephyrs have had just two primary logos in the team's 17 years in New Orleans. Upon arrival in the Crescent City, the Zephyrs kept the same basic look the team had used in Denver since 1985, changing only the city name above the baseball with the letter Z incorporated into the stitching.

In 2004, the Zephyrs went in a different direction, using mascot Boudreaux in the primary logo, as well as more subtle use of the letter Z.

The team had also used alternate logos over the years, including a "Mardi Gras" logo and uniforms primarily worn on Sundays from 1998-2000, and the "fleur de lis" logo used in 2006 and 2007.

Last year, the Zephyrs returned to wearing "Z" on their caps for the first time since 2003, and introduced the "NOLA" jerseys that were worn for most games during the 2009 season.

Now, for 2010, the Z's will introduce a whole new look.

"We are excited to unveil our new look," said Jessica De Oro, Zephyrs Director of Promotions. "We continually strive to offer entertainment for fans of all ages and I think our new logo will reflect how proud we are to be part of such great community and a unique city."

The Zephyrs will unveil the new logo on Tuesday, October 13.
