New Orleans – Cox Sports Television and the New Orleans Zephyrs announced today an eight game broadcast schedule for the New Orleans-based Triple-A affiliate of the Florida Marlins. The first game of the broadcast schedule is set for Thursday, April 28 at 7:00pm against the Oklahoma City Redhawks.

Greg Norton enters his first full season as skipper for the Zephyrs after taking over for Edwin Rodriguez midway through the 2010 campaign. Rodriguez was promoted to manager of the Florida Marlins in June of last year. A 13-year Major League veteran, Norton began his career with the Zephyrs as hitting coach in 2010.

“The Zephyrs are excited to enter another season as a partner of Cox Sports Television,” stated Z’s general manager Mike Schline. “The job CST does in bringing Zephyrs baseball to the living rooms of our community is second to none.”

Tim Grubbs and Ron Swoboda will again team up in 2011 for all eight CST broadcasts from Zephyr Field. Grubbs, who is the team’s Director of Broadcasting, will provide play-by-play, while Swoboda will serve as analyst. Again this year Grubbs and Swoboda will also host Inside Zephyrs Baseball, a 30 minute in-depth look at the Z’s. Visit Coxsportstv.com for dates and times when the show will be airing.
