The Fall Classic
The Fall Classic is here. The matchup of the defending World Series Champion Philadelphia Phillies taking on the Bronx Bombers the New York Yankees! This is a great match up and most fans have to agree the best two teams in baseball are playing for the championship. It’s the defending champs against the team with the best record during the regular season. The two top home run hitting teams facing off.
Lets hope that the games can be played without rain, snow and of course freezing cold temperatures. Playing baseball in November in Philly and NY is not exactly the best of conditions. There is a lot of hype for the games, now lets just Play Ball!
How would you like to be a Cleveland Indians fan: Game one match up is CC Sabathia against Cliff Lee. These two were teammates in Cleveland 15 months ago. That has to be painful to see these two being the aces for the Yanks and Phils. They may square off against each other three times in the best of seven.
Zephyrs Notes - Philly has five former Z’s on their roster. Pitchers Brad Lidge, Chan Ho Park, Chad Durbin. Infielders Eric Bruntlett and Andy Tracy.
Yankees have former Zephyr manager Tony Pena on their coaching staff. Congrats to Harahan native Chad Gaudin. He had a strog season with the Yankees after coming over in the trade with the Padres. Former Zephyrs coach Manny Acta was named Manager of the Cleveland Indians on Monday.
