Looking forward to seeing Jenkins in action this year!

Pensacola native Roy Jones Jr was at Saints practice on Wednesday and like a good boxing promoter was Derrick Brooks' own Don King. You see Jones grew up with Brooks and let the media know he still has plenty of gas left in the tank. Ok, he's biased but the big question does Sean Payton agree? Payton indicated after working out the future Hall of Famer at the Saints Facility he didn't promise him anything and left us all guessing on the possiblities.
The soon to be 36 year old 11 time pro bowler clearly isn't the same player he was when he led the Bucs Defense to its Super Bowl run back in 2003, but still could give the Saints lots of intangibles. I say if the price is right and Payton hinted that money wouldn't factor in, why not sign the best Buccaneer of all time?? He would be an instant presence in the locker room and you know would have a gigantic chip on his shoulder after being shunned by many teams this offseason. Also, do you think he may get up for those two Tampa games on the schedule??
The negatives ,after not missing a game his whole career, Brooks acted his age last season with a hamstring injury which left him limping down the sidelines in the season finale where the Raiders upset Tampa Bay's playoff chances and in effect ended Brooks career in Tampa. Now he's healthy, he is driven and it seems he's affordable. To me, the pluses outweight the minuses, with Mark Simoneau out of the picture, why not bring in Derrick Brooks, I know Roy Jones Jr would agree.
AROUND THE CAMPFIRE
JENKINS ON STANDBY: Rookie Malcolm Jenkins had an interception in Wednesday's practice and has looked comfortable considering this is his first week of camp, but Payton is still iffy on playing him against the Bengals on Friday.
MOORE OF THE SAME: Lance Moore for a change knows he is on this football team this time around but will sit out the Bengals game. He is likely to have that red jersey removed next week though.
REGGIE REGGIE: Reggie Bush sat out of practice on Wednesday but is expected to get some early reps Friday night in the season opener.
HAMSTRUNG: Its Deja-VU for cornerback Tracy Porter who suffered a hamstring injury in last year's camp and is dealing with another one a year later. He will miss the Bengals game but is expected to be back soon.
QB ROTATION: Payton says as expected Brees will work with the 1's in the 1st quarter, Mark Brunell will work with the 1's and 2's and then give way to Joey Harrington most likely midway through the 3rd quarter.
