Luke Babbitt workout

  • Email To A Friend

Monday’s workout consisted of Nevada forward Luke Babbitt, who addressed New Orleans reporters following the session.

LUKE BABBITT, Nevada
Q: How many workouts has it been for you?
A: This is my ninth. This is about the last one I think, so the process is almost over.

Q: Where do you see yourself being projected to go in the draft?
A: Projections are a pretty big range. Somewhere from about 8, to hopefully 18 or 20. I’m hearing good things. I’m just trying to do my best in every workout, and hopefully end up in a good situation.

Q: How difficult was it to be the only guy today to go through this workout?
A: Well, I’m dripping sweat. It’s tough. Coach (Monty) Williams is a great coach who played in the league. He put me through a tough workout.

Q: Do you foresee yourself as a member of the Hornets?
A: This is a great young team. They’ve got great point guards. I think they’re definitely going to try to build around those point guards and put pieces around them. I think I could be a good piece to the puzzle.

Q: People say your offense will translate to the NBA, but your defense may be a question mark. Is that what you see as your biggest question mark?
A: Well, I think everyone has areas of improvement when they come in the league. I think defensively that’s an area where I definitely need to improve, as well as offensively. I’m nowhere near reaching my potential. I’ve got a long ways to improve, and I’m going to continue to do that. But I definitely think I can step in and help a team right away.

Q: What do you see as your biggest asset?
A: My overall feel for the offense. Scoring the ball, shooting the ball, spreading the offense, making things happen on offense and creating for others. With my basketball IQ I can make things a lot easier for the rest of the team.
